Revolutionizing Blasting: Eco-Friendly, Ultra-Quiet Paint Booth by BlastOne

BlastOne Revolutionizes Industrial Blasting & Painting with “Green” Blast and Paint Booth Featuring Zero Emissions and Unmatched Noise Reduction

March 28, 2025 – BlastOne International has successfully completed a groundbreaking project that sets a new standard for industrial blasting and painting. The newly engineered Chromalox booth integrates innovative technologies to dramatically reduce energy consumption, reduce emissions, and effectuate significant noise reduction, making it one of the “greenest” and safest facilities in the industry.

The Chromalox booth was designed to address several key challenges, including increasing paint throughput, reducing environmental impact, and enhancing worker safety. The booth incorporates advanced features such as an all-electric heating system, VOC capture with charcoal filters, and an unprecedented noise reduction design that reduces decibel levels by nearly 30%. With a design and engineering focus on environmental and operational efficiency, this project is poised to shape the future of industrial blasting.

Project Highlights:

Green Technology: The booth utilizes only electricity to heat air in the make-up area, with VOC emissions captured by custom-engineered charcoal filters that are replaced and recycled regularly. This innovative design ensures significantly reduce emissions from the exhaust stack, positioning the Chromalox paint booth as potentially the most eco-friendly paint booth in the nation.
Noise Reduction: Through the use of specialized sandwich panel construction and SnakeBite blast nozzles, BlastOne has reduced noise levels from an average of 92-104 dB to a remarkable ~72 dB at 36 feet. This significant noise reduction improves worker safety and comfort in high-noise environments.
Custom Engineering: Overcoming multiple engineering challenges—including earthquake-ready footings and VOC management—BlastOne delivered a fully operational system within 8-10 months. The booth includes a range of advanced features such as HEPA filter ductwork, Aqua-tech fast cure and charcoal filters, and a crane system capable of moving heavy parts up to 4,000 lbs.
VOC Management: A sophisticated VOC mitigation system was designed using custom calculations based on paint volume, substrate profiles, and dry film thickness (DFT). This system helps manage VOC emissions, ensuring a safer and more efficient working environment.
