Schmidt Thompson® Metering Valve 2 II
Sku: P-GV2152
WHAT IS A THOMPSON VALVE 2? The Schmidt Thompson Valve for Abrasive Metering is an ingeniously simple valve that meters abrasive flow far more accurately than conventional valves. As the heart of the blasting machine, it acts like a carburetor—allowing abrasive media to enter the high-pressure air stream grain by grain. Designed by Mr. Bob Thompson, this second-generation valve carries his name and reputation for excellence. The Thompson Valve 2 retrofits any blast pot or hopper currently fitted with a Series 1 Thompson Valve. Many operators say their blast pots last twice as long before refilling when they make the switch. These normally closed valves are standard on multi-outlet abrasive blast machines, allowing each operator to blast independently with greater control and safety. The Virtual Position Indicator (VPI) provides a visual reference showing how far the valve is open, with graduated markings for easy, precise adjustment—no more counting knob turns. The fail-safe design ensures optimal operator safety. On shutoff, it simultaneously stops abrasive flow and seals the blast pot or hopper. A distinct blue knob also makes the valve easy to identify from a distance. Key Benefits:- Precise abrasive metering for reduced waste
- Fail-safe shutoff for enhanced safety
- Visual VPI gauge for easy control
- Fast on/off operation ideal for spot blasting
- Compatible with most blast systems, including slurry, mist, soda, amphi, and vapor blasters
