The Chlor*Test Surface Chloride Ion Test Kit, provides a practical method for checking chloride contamination before protective coatings are applied. Chloride salts left on a prepared surface can contribute to premature coating failure and corrosion, so confirming contamination levels is an important part of surface preparation and inspection. Designed for field use, the kit provides results in approximately 1.5 minutes and measures chloride ion concentrations from 5 ppm to 200 ppm. The test method achieves up to 98% surface salt extraction efficiency, helping inspectors and coating crews obtain a representative chloride measurement from the test area. The Chlor*Test Surface Chloride Ion Test Kit is suitable for checking blasted steel and other prepared surfaces used in industrial coating work, including bridges, pipelines, storage tanks, mining equipment, and marine or offshore structures. It can also be used for testing abrasive media for chloride contamination. The kit is tested and verified according to ISO 8502-5, ISO 8502-6, and AS 1627-4 requirements. It is available in configurations containing either 5 tests or 50 tests, allowing users to select a pack size suited to occasional inspection work or more frequent surface testing.
