In August 2026, DeFelsko completed their update to all of the most widely used PosiTector 6000 integral and cabled probes with a new zirconia-toughened wear face for improved durability at the measurement surface. These probes retain the durable ruby tip and are designed to provide long service life and consistent measurement accuracy. The upgraded construction applies to F, FS, FRS, FT, FTS, FTRS, N, NS, NRS, FN, FNS, FNRS, FNDS, and FNTS probes. Microprobes and select thick-coating probes retain their existing wear-face design. (The zirconia wear face does not add the elevated temperature resistance of the FXS and FHXS Xtreme probes.) Pricing and part numbers remain unchanged, and upgraded versions are shipping automatically on new orders.
